The article offers an analysis of Shuji Terayama’s screen version of Gabriel Garcia Marques’s novel “100 Years of Solitude”. Despite formidable changes in the plot-line and the unorthodox style one of the most famous Japanese avant-garde filmmakers managed to convey the spirit of the Columbian master’s work.
