Abstract
The authors make a diagnosis of the state of the socio-economic organism of our country and on this basis criticize the thesis of reindustrialization as the most promising way of development of Russia. It is shown that in the economy In the twenty – first century, industry can only play the role of a prerequisite for those areas where the main resource and the highest goal of modern development (and not just growth) is created-human qualities. Under these conditions, the basic branches of the material production can be qualitatively transformed within the framework of an industrial policy focused on the development of a new (mainly post-industrial) technological base and a fundamentally different (focused on the priority of human qualities and the production of means of their development, rather than material wealth and simulacra) production structure. An analogy is drawn with the transition from agricultural to industrial production, as a result of which agriculture, previously the dominant it turns into one of the spheres of industrial (“post-agrarian") production, whose share and role in social reproduction are constantly decreasing, although productivity and efficiency are growing. A similar “fate” awaits the industry, which may become in the future one of the spheres of creative (post-industrial) production, creating more and more material goods while reducing the share and role of this industry in social production.
