Abstract
The question is raised about the state of modern sociology. The process of development of sociology of the classical period is considered from the point of view of the fundamental ideas laid down by scientists in understanding the specifics of this science. It is concluded that it is possible to overcome the theoretical and methodological crisis by referring to the paradigmatic settings of the theories of Durkheim and Weber and combining them on a common ground.
