Abstract
Papers by the prominent Soviet geneticist Vladimir Pavlovich Efroimson (1908-1989) became accessible at the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2010. They contain rich information on Efroimson's life and work, and on many important episodes in the development of biological sciences, especially the birth of medical genetics in the USSR.
