Abstract
The realness of the ancient polis as a collective of personable males is directly proportional to the degree of discrimination of the female population, and inversely proportional to the degree of women equality. Opposition “male - female” attains its maximal intensity in the era of the civil community thriving while the preceding tribal era and subsequent imperial era its intensity was minimal.
