Abstract
Based on the Subject Index to the "Mythological Dictionary" ed. EAT. Meletinsky (M., 1991), a frequency list of minimal meanings involved in mythological plot motives (names of natural and cultural phenomena, animate beings, objects, loci, actions, states, properties, qualities, designations of quantitative characteristics, etc.) is formed. Thus, a method is proposed for establishing the cultural value of various concepts in the mythologies of the world. Frequentarius seems useful for the comparative study of cultural symbolism in different mythological traditions.
