- Abstract
- The article analyzes the facts of semantic syncretism, which are a manifestation of formally meaningful linguistic asymmetry, based on the material of Russian vocabulary. Usual cases of "unsolvable" syncretism, constituting, according to the author, a special lexicosemantic category - syncretsemy, are delimited, on the one hand, from the combination of two meanings of a polysemantic word, on the other hand, from the "ambiguity" of one meaning.
