- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the analysis of Russian nominal composites with not expressed by segment means the connection between the noun-vertex and the prepositive definition. The work provides a classification of such composites, as well as analyzes the reasons for the formation and expansion of a new grammatical model in the Russian language. The study shows that composites of this structure mimic the structure of English noun phrases with a prepositive adjoining definition. In addition, the article examines the pragmatic aspects of the functioning in the Russian language of nominal composites built according to this model, and it is suggested that their active expansion is due to both the prestige of the English language and the tendency to save linguistic means in terms of expression.
