- Abstract
- Discourse analysis is a special level section of linguistics, along with phonetics, morphology and syntax. The subject of this section is the linguistic constituents of a potentially unlimited volume - whole discourses. One of the main tasks of discourse analysis is to determine the parameters of the classification of discourses, that is, to build a taxonomy of types of discourse. The article discusses the most important parameters of such a taxonomy, including the difference in mode (oral / written). by genre, but functional style. While fundamentally independent, various classification parameters nevertheless reveal certain secondary connections - for example, the oral mode is typically associated with some functional styles, the written one - with others. The types of discourses, distinguished according to different classification parameters, have certain lexical and grammatical characteristics, and this is the reason for the connection between discourse analysis and more traditional level sections of linguistics.
