- Abstract
- Conjuncts and prepositions are included in the category of syntactic function words. The traditional classifications of the latter suffer from serious shortcomings. The article notes these shortcomings and suggests ways to overcome them. The choice of conjuncts and prepositions as illustrative material is explained by the fact that relatively little attention was paid to these words and related problems in Russian literature.
