- Abstract
- The first part of the article examines structuralist and generativistic approaches to describing the synonymy of grammatical (inflectional) indicators; the works of a number of Russian researchers of the 1960-1980s are highlighted. (some of which were influenced by structuralism). The range of approaches to this phenomenon - from its complete negation, dictated by the most general principles of structuralism (and several different ways have been proposed to declare synonymy "non-existent") to a differentiated approach to various types of coexistence of synonymous units.
