Abstract
The article focuses on the Kyrgyz diaspora in Turkey and its changing identity. On the one hand, the diaspora's identity is becoming increasingly fluid and losing stability in the context of transborder and inner migrations of the Kyrgyz from the microspace, which essentially is the village of Uluu Pamir in Eastern Turkey, to macrospaces, such as those represented by the large cities of Istanbul, Malatya, and Ankara. On the other hand, the diaspora's identity is being strengthened and crystallized - especially in the part played by family and marriage rituals in the culture and everyday life - and is consequently becoming a tool of cultural representation in the multicultural society of Turkey.
