Abstract
The paper deals with the projects of foundation of an archaeological museum discussed in Petrograd inspring and summer 1917. As a result of a Conference of Artists and Scholars held at the Institute of Art History in March 1917, several commissions involving representatives of academia and the world of art were created. They were supposed to discuss the issues pertaining to the creation of a unified Ministry of Arts. One of the commissions was devoted to museum and cultural resource management. Such renowned archaeologists as M.I. Rostovtzeff, O.F. Waldhauer, A.A. Miller and B.V. Farmakovskiy took part in its work and gave papers on archaeological excavations and the foundation of an archaeological museum.
